Formerly a paper-based newsletter describing folk and traditional dance events in New England, The Dance Gypsy now provides a complete on-line directory to dance related information. They have two major listings:
The Dance Schedules are a New England-centric listing of all regularly scheduled dances (including contra, Scottish, English, international, Balkan, Israeli, squares, ballroom, swing, tango and other traditional dance forms) in the Northeast. It currently lists over 500 events each month.
The Festival Planner lists as many festivals “special” events (less frequent than “monthly”) as possible. This section includes dances across the entire 50 states plus Canada. The Festival Planner now includes over 450 events annually.

Folkstuff is a newletter serving the Tompkins County (Ithaca area) music, dance, and folk community. Though not currently available by mail, you can access the newsletter, including lots of back issues on the website listed above.

The Pickin' and Singin' Gatherin's monthly newsletter keeps members informed of Capitol District folk events and PSG monthly meetings (2nd Sundays, at Caffe Lena in Saratoga Springs).  it also lists PSG special events, such as house concerts and workshops, and their two small, family-oriented festivals: the GottaGetGon (Memorial Day) and the Last Gasp (Labor Day).
