Karlinda is an active professional freelance harpist and teacher, with harp students ranging from the very young to "none of your business"! Karlinda's students have various goals - from those who just want to enjoy playing the harp in their own living room, those who are passionate for Celtic music, to serious classical-track students. Some student accomplishments on the high school level include ESYO, Interlochen Summer Program, Interlochen Academy. On the college level, some students have gone on to attend Oberlin College (harp performance major) and SUNY Fredonia (music ed & music therapy majors with harp as the main instrument). Karlinda teaches both lever/Celtic-style harp and pedal/Classical-style harp with equal enthusiasm. She is Adjunct Harp Instructor at The College of Saint Rose, Hartwick College, and SUNY College at Oneonta, and also teaches privately throughout the Capital Region as well as in her studio at Hartwick College in Oneonta. All harp students* are welcome, from beginner to advanced! Karlinda also teaches some violin and viola (beginner to intermediate levels), mostly in Saratoga. SummerSongs, Inc. is a non-profit corp. dedicated to helping songwriters write the best songs they can write. To that end SummerSongs puts on a songwriter's conference for adults in the Catskills every summer. The location is Ashokan Field Campus; a beautiful campground and conference center with cabins, a small lake, a stream, campground, meeting halls, classrooms, and all the makings of a really good time, including delicious meals. Workshops take place during the day, with plenty of time to relax and play music, swim, sauna or just listen to other people jam.
